These groups will give families an opportunity to spend quality time with their little ones while developing their social, cognitive and language skills.  These are informal and FUN!  Come learn some basics to keep you on a successful BABY SIGNS® Journey. $3 per family per month. Free for Baby Signs Alumni.  Calling  ahead is recommended but not necessary as space is limited. 

SIGN, SAY & PLAY™ CLASS with Laura Lyon & BeeBo the signing bear is designed for children 6 months thru 3 years old. The class meets for 45 minutes once a week for six weeks.  You will learning all the basics of signing with a combination of the rich classroom experience and the proper tools for learning at home. Themes include: Mealtime, Bedtime, Bath Time, Getting Dressed, My Pets, and At the Park.  AT HOME KIT INCLUDED contains: BeeBo's Play Pack™, My First Fun Signs DVD, My First Fun Signs Board Book, My More Fun Signs Board Book, Quick Reference Guide, Higgeldy-Piggeldy Bobbledy-Boop Music CD and Songbook!    All 6 classes and at home kit $130.  Please call Laura Lyon to Register 480-220-6083

This class is for the mother who has never given birth. We would encourage you to bring one support person with you. Class outline:
The Basics - Anatomy, Definitions of terms, Pregnancy Nutrition (prevention of pre-eclampsia)
Child Birth - Recognizing Labor, Cardinal Movements, Mind/Body Connection, Stages of Labor, When to go to the hospital, Writing a birth plan
Coping with labor - Gate Control Theory, Primal Laboring, 19 Labor coping techniques
Pushing and Birth - "Rest & Be Thankful Stage", Pushing, Catching Baby, Cutting Cord, Looks & Behavior of newborns, Vernix
Third Stage - Cord Traction, Pitocin, Fundal Massage, Cord Blood Banking
Interventions - The Benefits, Risks & Alternatives of the top 15 interventions in hospital birth
Infant Care - Vitamin K, Hepatitis B, Eye Ointment, Newborn Screen, Feeding, Jaundice, Calming an infant, Cord Care, Night Time Parenting
Breastfeeding - Latch, Positioning, Supply & Demand

This is a "must have" class for anyone planning to feed their baby breast milk. You will learn about why breast is best, challenges, engorgement, positions for nursing, nipple care, pumping, returning to work, bottle feeding, and weaning PLUS much more. Taught by Jenny Bailey, Certified Breastfeeding Counselor.

CPR/AED & First Aid Class

The American Heart Association along with Every Mother & Child would like to invite you to attend a CPR, First Aid and AED  training course.  This class is taught by certified instructors Jarvis & Rochelle Williams of COMPRESSIONS FOR LIFE.  Upon completion of this course you will be certified in Adult, Child & Infant Cardio Pulmonary Resuscitation, Emergency First Aid and how to use an Automated External Defibrillator.  There is no previous medical training required and perfect for expecting parents and their families.  The cost for this training course is $50 per adult.  Children ages 15-18 are welcome at only $30 with a paying adult.  Class will be held at Every Mother & Child. PRE-Registration is required, please call 480-986-0328 to register.  Class size is limited to 12 people.  Please come wearing comfortable clothing and no lip care products of any kind.  You will be asked to demonstrate your new skills using a sanitized manikin.
